“He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" John 11:25-26.
What Jesus is saying is that if you believe in him you will never die. Obviously there is physical death of the flesh, but your soul will remain with him in heaven forever. And let’s face it, who would not want to have ever lasting life in heaven? In the book of Revelations 21:4 heaven is described as a place where there is
“no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away”.
Or there is the ‘other place’ of course! Each and every one of us is God’s creation and his love for us is unimaginable, all he wants is for us to have a relationship with him forever and to turn from our sins….he will take care of the rest!
Born again? What do you mean?
So we’ve briefly gone over the importance of why we should give our lives to Christ, but what does being ‘born again’ mean? A man asked Jesus himself this very question and he responded “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God”
John 3:5.
Men are born with sinful hearts and we have all sinned in the eyes of God. Therefore when you do give your life to Christ his blood will cleanse you and wash away all your sins, God will give you a new spirit
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh” Ezekiel 36:26.
We know it’s not easy! To turn from thing’s you’ve always done and to give up thing’s that are of the world and not of God, it’s a difficult journey. But by accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal saviour you believe that God’s only son died on the cross for your sins (this is God’s salvation) and then he rose from the dead. You will then receive the Holy Spirit who will guide, teach and reveal to you the way to live your life for God. This is only the beginning and here at ACI we pray that anyone reading this will take this step and dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever AMEN!
If you feel lead to do it, say this simple prayer.
“Lord, I am a sinner and I thank you for the grace and salvation that you have given me by sending your son to die for my sins. Help me to turn from my sins as I cannot do it alone. Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and personal saviour, come into my life and dwell in me. Holy Spirit guide my steps, my thoughts and words. I want to have a relationship with you Lord and dwell in your kingdom forever. In Jesus name I have prayed, AMEN”
